Volunteer

The Ketchikan Volunteer Rescue Squad (KVRS) is a multi-disciplined organization that responds to nearly 30 operations a year. Our founding fathers envisioned an organization that would “Serve the Community of Ketchikan”, our members embody those ideals and are humbled to serve as stewards to one of the oldest search and rescue group in Alaska.

We have weekly training nights, equipment maintenance, and other team duties, but if you join today you will discover why our members find excitement in search and rescue – it is a great way to serve your community!

No experience is necessary, although there are roles that do require special skills, and if you are willing to learn we are willing to train! We are grateful for support in any of our volunteer areas- take a look at the list below to find brief descriptions of volunteer roles to find the place you feel you can contribute.

Join us today, participate in the excitement of serving our community tomorrow
