Borrow a SPOT Messenger
KVRS loans SPOT satellite messengers - a small device that can fit in your pocket - that can be used to request rescue personnel in an emergency situation. This service is provided free of charge.
Visit one of our partner locations listed below to fill out a trip plan and receive a SPOT messenger to take with you into the backcountry. In an emergency situation, you can activate the SOS function on the device, which will notify KVRS personnel of your location and will initiate a review of your trip plan to assess the response that may be needed.
The SPOT loaner program is a service provided free of charge. However, the program carries significant costs, and your donations are appreciated to keep it running.
